Update on Minor Operations at Helston Medical Centre
At Helston Medical Centre, we strive to keep our patients informed about our services. We would like to update you on the current situation regarding minor surgical procedures.
Due to limited resources, we currently have only one clinician available to perform minor operations. Additionally, we can only offer these services for a restricted range of conditions, which include:
- Lesions or cysts that have been painful or inflamed more than once
- Recurring ingrown toenails
- Low-risk types of skin cancer (such as basal cell carcinoma)
If you believe your condition fits these criteria, we encourage you to contact us. Our team will assist you in submitting an up-to-date photo and a description of your condition to better assess your needs and discuss the next steps.
Please note that we cannot treat all types of lesions. Lesions not typically removed at our surgery include skin tags, cosmetic concerns, and facial lesions. If you have concerns about a potential skin cancer, we urge you to reach out to us for further discussion.
We understand that these limitations may be disappointing, and we apologize for any confusion regarding our services. Our priority is to ensure you receive the care you need, and we are committed to helping you find alternative providers if necessary.
For any questions or assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact our reception team.
We appreciate your understanding and support during this time.
