Information on accessing GP services when you are visiting the area:

Temporary residents

This applies to people such as second homeowners and returning students. They may register with our practice as a temporary resident for up to 3 months.

Immediate and necessary

Standard advice is for patients to contact their own GP first, even when here on holiday.

NHS communications will continue to deliver this message. However, local practices have a duty to provide care where clinically determined, i.e. where the patient has been deemed by their own practice as needing to be seen face to face.

Patients can receive care on this basis for up to 14 days. If the treatment (and their stay) is going to continue beyond 14 days you should register as a temporary resident.
